Asha Khilnani | Co-Founder & Finance Director 

Asha has over 20 years of executive experience in the energy industry since co-founding Gentec in 1996. She has steered the company towards a strong financial position and most importantly a credible global EPC player.

 

She holds an MBA from Cleveland State University.

 

 

Ray Sayer | Business Development Director

Ray has been a central member of Gentec’s team since 2005 – holding senior roles in Project Execution & Design to Business Development. He is well liked by clients for his up front approach and practical problem solving, especially important in challenging execution markets such as Nigeria.

 

Prior to joining Gentec, Ray was a senior Projects Engineer at Cummins Inc. in the UK and was responsible for the design and construction of a multi million dollar new facility in Kent.

 

 

Bob Leeson | Technical Director

Bob has been a critical member of Gentec’s leadership team since 2004, bringing a wealth of generator knowledge from Cummins Inc. as well as Africa implementation experience.

 

Bob ensures the most optimal power generation equipment and balance of plant is sized for each individual site to optimise performance and efficiency.

 

 

John Pilkington | Parts & After Sales Manager

John has headed the Gentec parts and after sales service since 2005. He holds over 30 years experience in this area and has developed strong strategic partnerships with critical suppliers to ensure our gas and power plants run smoothly all year round.  

 

Kamal Bharj, Gentec Switzerland MD   

Kamal holds strong global experience in engineering and leadership roles. He began his career with MW Kellogg, working on the design of an LNG plant in Algeria. He then spent 15 years with Inlaks Group, focusing on developing their industrial base across Nigeria.

 

Following Gentec’s acquisition of Natural Gas Technologies, a specialist natural gas EPC firm, Kamal continued to lead the operations from Switzerland. He is in charge of the Group’s procurement activities, quality control and supplier management. Kamal studied Mechanical Engineering at Imperial College London.   

 

 

Balaji | Gentec India MD

Balaji heads Gentec India, which operates a world class fabrication and assembly facility as part of Gentec EPC’s vertically integrated structure, as well as a strong engineering and design team. Balaji holds over 25 years management experience in the power sector, including senior roles with Wartsila.

 

He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering and is a Certified Project Management Professional from PMI, USA.

Swapan Hazra | Chief Technical Consultant  

Swapan has extensive Senior Management experience with nearly four decades in the Oil & Gas and Petrochemical industry. He has worked for numerous multinationals and public companies, including Kvaerner Powergas India, Engineers India, ICI India and Aegis Logistics Ltd, where he served as the CEO and MD. Swapan has also chaired various Government of India (GoI) and international Oil & Gas Boards such as The Business Led Network of Excellence Canada, the Safety Health and Environment Expert Committee of Indian Chemical Council, LNG & LPG Standard Committee of the NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) USA, Working Group Marine LNG Terminals and Port Safety of Society of International Gas Terminals and Tanker Operators of UK.

 

Swapan has been a key member of developing Gentec’s CNG and LNG capability, quick project execution and 100% safety record.   Swapan holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT, Kharagpur) along with a postgraduate degree in both Design Engineering and Business Management.

V. Giri | Projects and Engineering Head

Giri heads the Project & Engineering team at Gentec. He brings over 20 years experience in this field to Gentec, having held senior engineering and management roles at Wartsila, and developed a range of power plants across the Middle East, Asia and Africa varying in scale from 2 MW to 117MW.

 

Giri is a graduate in Electrical Engineering and a Certified Project Management Professional from PMI, USA.

D. Manoharan | Project and Site Manager

Mano holds over 20 years experience in Site Installation & Commissioning and Project Management.

 

He has executed over 50 power projects across the globe, bringing a hands on and practical solution orientated approach to any issues that arise on site. 

S. Rengarajan | Chief Electrical Engineer

Rengarajan holds over 44 years in the electrical design of power plants and other process industries. He is a specialist in EHV switchyards up to 400 KV, fault level study and relay co-ordination, broadening Gentec’s power capabilities.

 

He is also passionate about training younger Gentec engineers to bring new dynamism to the team.

R. Sriram | Admin Head 

Sriram runs the Gentec IT, ERP and Quality Management Systems for all offices and clients globally. He holds over 20 years experience in this field and continues to update our digital processes that drive efficiency and help execute projects on time and under budget.

 

Sriram holds a MS from BITS Pilani and is a Certified Project Management Professional from PMI, USA. He is also a certified Lead Auditor in ISO 9000 / 27001/ 25999.

Sridhar Gandham | Rental Head  

Sridhar joined Gentec in 2002 and holds over 25 years energy experience. He now heads operations in Nigeria, leading the growth in Gentec’s Rental Department, which offers both short and long term fully outsourced power solutions that operate on gas and diesel generators for industries and large residential estates.

 

Sridhar holds a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from Osmania University, a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from National Institute of Technology and a Diploma in Management.

Sai Santhanam | Corporate Finance Manager  

Sai has over 10 years experience in Corporate Finance & Private Equity across the Real Estate, Renewable Energy and Power sectors. Prior to joining Gentec in 2014, Sai worked with Jones Lang LaSalle and Berggruen Holdings as a Senior Business Analyst. He has substantial experience in valuations, due diligence and fund raising at corporate & SPV level. Sai also takes an active lead in transaction structuring, project feasibility assessment, budgeting and financial monitoring & reporting (MIS).  

 

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Commerce and a Finance MBA. Pursuing his interest in the subject, Sai also underwent a training on advanced excel & macros with Standard & Poor's (S&P).

Cheta Nwabuike | Company Secretary 
Cheta holds over 15 years experience in Company Secretarial Practice, Corporate Governance and Statutory Compliance across the communications, manufacturing, oil, gas and power industries. She had worked with Flour Mills Nigeria, Danimex Nigeria, Industrial and General Insurance Group before joining Cummins & Powergas, where she heads the legal, secretarial and compliance arm of the Group.
 
Cheta is a Chartered Secretary and Administrator by profession having qualified from the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (U.K) in 2002, where she remains as a fellow. She holds a first class (Hons) B.Sc degree from the University of Lagos and an MBA from the Lagos State University.
